Rad cap
Having some coolant overflow issues with my new car, a 99 SiR with a b16a.
Basically the car when on track pukes coolant into the overflow, it will not overheat as long as there is coolant in the rad. The temp will stay perfect.
Running the car in the pits shows that it is blowing lots of bubbles into the tank on idle.
Seems to me like the rad cap is not doing the job, its a stock cap BTW. There are no signs of head gasket, as I can drive for a month between track days and not lose one drop of coolant, plugs all look fine, no smoke, etc.
Is it common to have to use a higher pressure cap on these motors if you track the car?
Thanks!
I searched and found some stuff, but mostly head gasket trouble. Not much related to the track..
