I'm looking to buy a set of G-Force 5 point belts from http://www.soloracer.com, and was wondering what the difference was between the pull up and pull down versions, and which one is better per application?
This is probably a really simple question, but I don't know the difference....
Thanks in advance,
JP

In only a few words-The harness should always be of the PULL-DOWN type and the belts of the PULL-UP type. This is the easiest way to adjust them.

unless you have a pit crew strapping you in your car, then up is better on the harness.

I prefer Pull Ups on the lap belts (not to be confused with the Pull-Ups potty training diapers we are using on my 3 year old son right now) and pull downs on the Shoulders. Even if your crew straps you in (they do my lap), I like the Pull Down shoulders because I always retighten them on the out lap or pace lap once I am driving. I always find that once I am moving and have pushed the pedals and bounced around a bit that I scrunch down in the seat a little more. With a Pull Down, without looking I can grab the tail with one hand themn use the other hand to push down on the first hand making it really nice and snug. I just bought a new set of Sparco belts and got lap belt Pull Ups and should Pull downs just for that reason.
