Default Project U Pads

I'm looking to get a set of front pads for my Civic. I want something that has better bite than the Hawk blues but may be more rotor friendly. This is for roadracing only.

I'm getting a pretty good deal on a set of Project U 777's or 999's.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these pads?

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll look into the cobalt stuff.

So, no one has experience with Project U?

What's the difference between 777 and 999's? Have you given any thought to Ferodo 3000's or heard how they perform in a road race environment?

Alec, it's hard to find proper info on these pads as i haven't found a webpage or anything. From what Ray @ khf says, the 777's are more of an aggresive compound similar to the hawk golds whereas the 999's are less aggresive and easier on rotors but both are better than the Hawk Blues.

I've thought about Ferrodo's but they are quite expensive compared to what i am getting the Project U's for.

They may be a little expensive, but I tried the Porterfield R-4's this weekend at Phoenix Int'l Raceway, and absolutely loved them. Great bite, not a whole lot of dust, and not very much wear, either (although, there's only 2 1/2 really heavy braking zones at this track). Like I said, they're a little more expensive (list for my '01 integra is $180, I got 'em for $150, though) but I think they'll last for quite awhile.
