Default Pics and Coverage from VIR

We have posted the pictures and racer's diary from this weekend's VIR event on our site (http://www.teambodega.com). I have pics of some of the HPDE groups and some of the Enduro car on track.

We also updated the racer's diary entries from the previous 2 events.

Here are a couple of the pics

Good photos Beno...

I can only image how awful that Supra was in the rain, especially when the boost kicked in...

I love the side exit pipes on that old school civic hatch. He may have had only 95 HP but he knew how to use it.

The side pipe is good for more noise & killing mosquitos. After having both the CSP car and H5 car on a track, I can say the CSP car has slightly more grunt coming out of the corners (103hp @ flywheel) than the H5 car (95hp best guess).

The Civic felt pretty good out there. Not much power, but not much metal to get moving either. Very similar "speed potential" as my Spec RX-7.

Your Civic:
103 hp
2200 lbs (guess, track weight with driver+instructor)
~21lbs/hp

My Spec RX-7:
120 hp (guess, based on 100rwhp)
2530 lbs (race weight with driver only)
~21lbs/hp

BTW, notice the water level in the background in

http://www.teambodega.com/images/VIR...010124_JPG.htm

The normal banks of the Dan river should be on the other side of the trees... Water was very high... One could almost make it to the river's edge, if going off in Turn 17.

I *think* the Aerial photo on http://www.virclub.com/pages/trackInfo/trackLayout.htm#
has where the river *should* be is in the lower right...

Yep! Here's a pic I took from up on the hill on Sunday mid-day that shows just how close the water's edge was to the track:

BTW we are seeing similar flooding here in Richmond from the James River. One of my favorite local twisty backroads, Riverside Drive, is totally underwater at this moment

Not only is the water supposed to be on the other side of those trees, but I think it is supposed to be on the other side of the burm behind that.

Yes, It was theoretically possible to go off in turn 17,... and drown!
