pic coilover suggestions
yes another pic thread.
I can finally pick up a set up these(w00t) and Im curious as to what I should choose.
Apex or selects?
P2 or P3?
Daily driven 00 Si(will see winter use)
A few track days a year. Some harshness doesnt bother me.
Are any of them fixed height?
thanks

I'm loving the 10k/8k pic selects. I wouldn't really recommend any stiffer for a daily driven car. Not so much because of the harshness, but because with such stiff rates, the car might skate when hitting bad roads like slick asphalt, loose dirt on the road, potholes, etc. Such a high rate you can overwork the tires.
I had my first track event on VIR full course 2 weeks ago with this setup. I loved them. The car handled beautifully. Also helps that I was cornerweighted
They are all adjustable heights with adjustable preload. The selects have adjustable dampening, the apex's do not.

if all else fails to answer your questions, fall back to the adjustable route. Even if you end up using the exact setting of the non-adjustable ones, you still have the option to change it.
I also would not suggest anything stiffer than the P2s on a daily driver, unless the roads in your area are very smooth and you have stock seats.

I run the 10k/14k selects on my crx.
EDIT: just looked it up, they are Pic Select R2's
not sure which model they are offhand.
I daily drive the car, but don't commute far.
on trips of any distance, I feel like I would get KILLED.
the cd player skips more than it plays.
but on track, nothing compares.
the car is insane.
and i love it.

That's weird, I run 10k/7k on mine and the cd player never skips

Check out the link that Relic1 posted about corner weighting. I couldn't even get on the gas aggressively because the car pulled in random directions. I corner weighted it and problem pretty much solved. Then got it aligned and problem completely solved. If you go with coilovers, corner weighting is a must in order to get a real benefit from them. A lot of people skip over this step.
You can also call up Jim/Al @ PIC. They are very friendly and will give you good direction on what rates to go with. While I would recommend 10/8k. If you have harsh winters with ice and such, you might really need to go 8k/6k to make the suspension more compliant for bad conditions.
