Default Nex seats...reliability and performance?

Are these seats (the non-reclineable ones) tough and safe enough for autocrossing? Need input before I go buy.

they are not FIA approved, so i would be leery of their quality. Likely in the same category as Arospeed. IOW, they are crap.

stay away from those bling blinging seats. Look for FIA approval. And keep asking the people on thins board.

no! dont keep asking us! Go to the shop and sit in them and find the one you feel most comfortable in that fits in your price range!

uhm....i don't really care about the comfort...the least thing i want is flying away comfortably in my seat from my car...and into the course...

I just want to know that given their price range...will they hold up to the rigors of autocross?

Unless this is a trailered car, I would be more worried about holding up on the street, than on an autocross course. Ask yourself what that seat is going to do if you get in a wreck going home. I've never even seen a Nex seat, so I have no clue...

They are the only Bride seat copies around. For buckets at that price range, they look like a good deal. I just worried about how tough these seats are...both at track day and for daily driving. Hopefully someone out here has them on. If I can get a good deal on these, I can spend the money I saved elsewhere.

Are the FIA approved seats the only seats which are recommended for both track and street? I've seen Kirkey seats around...and they dont seem to have an FIA rating. Any thoughts on this?

Last time I checked, Momo Rookies are less than $300 and carry one of the latest FIA approvals. I use one in my race car. It is comfortable enough for street use if you have empty pockets. You may need to add a lumbar pillow for long drivers.

I hope not!

Good idea, skimp on the safety equipment and put more money into strut bars.

its not really like that...

Aside from the fact I can't really spend a huge amount of money as of the moment for a seat...I'm just one of those people who believe that the most expensive product need not be the best out there. It's a bang for the buck thing...besides...i'm pretty sure a lot of guys would go out and buy them if they are as good as the more expensive brands out there.

I was just hoping that someone has some experience using them.

I'll give the Momo rookies a look. Heard that Sparcos fade easily...and I'm hoping for a JDM look .

I'm pretty sure the Bride racing buckets look much like the racing buckets from 99% of manufacturers. Other than the "Bride" label, I'm not sure what makes them JDM look?

This is the autocross/road race forum. If you're interested in seats for style or just for that JDM look then the people in the appearance/cosmetic forum will be able to help you more then us.

Here's a link to that forum for your convenience: https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=28

Needless to say, I hope you're not installing a non-reclinable seat in a car without rollover protection.
