I know we have seen some posts about it, but this looks to be the real deal!
I think it looks pretty cool. Wonder what the interior looks like!

Never happen. American Honda is convinced that hatchbacks don't sell in America.

Correct! But, they also know that every teenager in the country knows what a "Type R" is.
Still, you are correct. They will never bring it here so that guys like us can enjoy it.

wtf are you guys talking about? how many honda hatchbacks were sold from 1988 - 1998? they screwed up by killing the hatch for 2 years then bringing some mini Odesey to the market. Honda needs to go back to its roots

Sales of the Fit will prove that its not hatches that are the problem, its homely, overweight, underpowered, and overpriced hatches that don't sell.
Personally I don't think a 200 hp Type-R would be worth it over here but maybe if it was significantly lighter and had 220 hp+ it'd be worth importing.

i think the problem with doing lighter cars is that it doesnt pass safety standards without buying stronger/lighter metals, which then raises the cost to that above what it'd be worth. i doubt a crx would meet the safety standards a new car has to go through. or maybe im just bullshitting, i dont know if cars have to meet a standard or not, it just makes sense to me. honsetly, i dont see a reason why honda wouldnt do that, look at everyone thats buying used crx/civics/integras. i dont see a good reason why honda wouldnt try and stick to that
as a crx owner... i can say... the safety tests on cars have NOTHING to do with what i purchase
and yes i've been Tboned in the drivers side door by a V6 camry doing 50 mph... and i walked away...
It was an '88 with no door bars... i own a '90 with door bars now
but it was just the cleanest crx i could find...

This car is to be based on the EU-only 5-door Civic hatch. Whereas the rest of the world gets a Civic Sedan and/or Coupe with struts up front and multilink double wishbones in the rear, that EU hatch gets struts up front and a less-than-sporty swing beam rear suspension.
A TypeR with a swing beam? I hope not...

add "******* hideous" to that list.
it looks like a bad interpretation of a "future car" out of a low budget 80s sci fi movie

The 3 door will apparently have the multilink rear like the sedan and coupe. The 5 door got the twist beam in order to create more rear cargo room.

tboned on the driver side or passenger? i have an 89 hf (no steel door beam) and im afraid of getting hit from the side. i find it hard to believe you'd come out unhurt getting tboned on the driver side

i would guess that since the ep3 didn't sell as great as prior years, honda's hesitance is justified.
hell, you see that consumer reports rating that came out?
honda came in first w/ the new civic, accord, ridgeline, and oddesey. How great is that!
