Should you re-read this: https://honda-tech.com/forums/road-racing-autocross-time-attack-19/did-you-see-nicholas-cage-movie-national-treasure-2761537/ ?

Scott, who doesn't believe in barz...I don't "believe" in barz...

Thanks. Miss ya over there. Any thoughts on the scrub radius quandry? Do you think calculating the aligning torque with the different combinations would reveal anything? (that would mean I'd need to dig up a way to calculate such a thing)

It's an interesting puzzle Nate. My head is pretty much in another realm right now, but the relationship between the contact patch centroid and the steering axis intersection with the ground indisputably matters for feel, and I really believe in the value of feel - with respect to unpowered and especially powered wheels. I try to visualize the component thrust and lateral and resultant vectors at the contact patch as the patch moves about the ground intersection. A big scrub radius doesn't strike me as something that would have a beneficial effect on feel. Sometime back in the mist Road & Track ran an article on why BMW steering feels so good, maybe look for it and see if it offers any applicable insight. It also occurs to me that if you are unwinding and the car isn't responding then must you not be plowing? Is that the dirty secret of your setup - you got so much rubber that you can scrub your way around the course with your inside rear firmly planted and still go fast?

Scott, who doesn't think your problem is related to inside wheel spin...but I haven't thought about it that hard...Testing...that's what you need to do.

Circle track guys and some tube chassis guys have played with scrub. Some went as far as to try to engineer a zero scrub front end. I'm sure there is an article about it in race car engineering. The guy I knew that was trying it couldn't get it quite right.
