Loading a race car in the snow sucks
Note to self:
When it's snowing outside, do NOT use the wooden boards to extend the ramp.
Last night, Dave (SMS) and a friend of mine got to witness me slide sideways off the wooden boards. One wheel dangling, partly resting on the header
Oops. Dave helped me get it back on the ground safely, and then I managed to get it up on the trailer w/o the wooden boards.
What a PITA. There is definately something wrong with me. Send help. Soon. Please?!?!

i did a drivers ed at Mid Ohio 3 years ago in the snow. about 1-2 inches on the track.
it was one of the most fun events I have participated in. I was instructing at the time, and had to convince my students to go out.
what a way to learn car control at low speeds in a safe environment.
oh, and there is nothing like doing 110 mph in the snow going down the back stretch into the braking zone!!!!
i was running almost new 032R yokos; they worked great.
Warren, be sure to take some full treaded street tires with you this weekend, or borrow some good 032Rs.
have fun!!!!!

Well, Crazy Ed loaned me a set of stock wheels w/ Azenis on them at the beginning of this season. I'd hate to have to use them, so I'm trying not to.

So is the header OK
I guess it was better to load the car on the trailer last night rather than this morning! We've got about 7" up here in No.VA (at work in Reston)
Well hell. After all the sheeeeit. I just got an email saying the event was cancelled. Grrr.
The header is about as dented as it was from a test day @ Summit. Coming back on over the curbing @ 6 is not a good idea.

Feel free to use them as much as you can ...
I hope you don't mind my saying this, Warren, but you do seem to have a penchant for doing things the hardest way possible at any time.

Actually, I'm glad its canceled. Back in Oct when I signed up for it, I was all gung-ho. Now, I'm ready to be done for the year. I have xmas lights to put up, leaves to rake & the car needs a clutch.

Good luck raking those leaves.

From the short period i have been here Warren always seems to get himself into the shittiest situations. Maybe he should not touch his car until it is already lined up for him on the grid. He could walk up (carefully not to slip) and slowly get it without banging his helmet on the door frame... Than he could drive it like Warren..

Next time the situation arises, try a set of these:

Saw that at the car show last week... Me want.

and a certain passenger was scared shitless!
I felt weird as a passeneger telling a instructor to move his line 6" left or right. Todd's right side wheels were on the sealing strips in the braking zone.
Then the double tranny swap AT Mid Oh in the freezing weather.
BTW Todd, I hope to get Sundays off for the next 6 months, I hope to attend (not drive) more of the East Coast tracks.
