Are Koni's user serviceable?
I have a used set of 8211's, and one of them seems to occasionally leak oil out of the compression adjust ****. I asked Koni about it, and one of the guys said that if it only leaked once, then ignore it, but if it keeps leaking, get it rebuilt. A rebuild is going to cost about $180. And then you may as well get it revalved. And then you may as well do the other shock too. So total maybe $400. I hope I can just pull the **** out and replace an o-ring or something. And maybe top it off with some shock oil. Does anybody know if this is possible, or do I really have to send it in and have the "pros" do it?
I thought I would ask on this forum because lots of people here deal with rebuilt shocks.
