JTCC which lasted from 1993 to 1998 were basically the Japanese version of BTCC Super Touring. We had the NATCC briefly in USA but there were only limited works teams and it never really tooked off...
I'm fairly positive the STP Civic in the video was not running B16A. Notice it said the engine were rated at 280 ps. The 2 liter Super Touring engines basically went from 280 ps to 300 then peaked to about 320 ps in the later ST years, all rev limited to 8500 rpm. I'm pretty sure it was the H22A destroked to 2 liter...
As for the gear boxes, these were all expensive $15,000+ racing sequential boxes. Two main suppliers for this top level FWD racing were Xtrac and Dave Brown Engineering.

I remember the JAS Accord had a sequential gear box IIRC; they pretty much modified it to turn the "correct" direction and had a regular aftermarket transmission(Getrag, Hewland, etc. I don't know what the JAS Accords had though)
Here's some pics of some BTCC Accords; noticed the head is on "backwards"(intake facing front):

There are several gearbox manufacturers that you can chose for a sequential transaxle. Sadev, X-Trac, Hewland, Quaife, Drenth, and Ricardo might also have a FWD unit but it would be double the others. X-trac and Sadev have the widest range of fitments.
I just dont understand why he was using the clutch on the downshifts with a box like that.

What'd be really cool is to see close up photos of the JTCC EG Civic suspension. I think in the 93/94 suspension relocation wasn't allowed yet, so it should've been all factory attachment points.
