So, now that most of you are in the offseason, anyone else played this little gem yet?
its a monthly fee but its FAN-TASTIC. its basically an online simulator that does road and oval racing. its relatively new but its gaining momentum. they race every hour on the hour and ive NEVER had a race with less than 7 people.
ive had it for a couple weeks and im addicted.

$20 a month... kinda pricey for a racing game dont you think? I mean people devote their lives to wow for only 15 a month and that has tournaments w/ cash prizes. (ew wow lol)
how does it compare to other real sims like r-factor (free) or Forza 2/ GT5?

it doesnt compare. its a whole different level. its from the creator of grand prix legends.
i agree its pricey (btw, youll NEVER win a cash prize playing wow. too many people play that game for a living) but give it a shot for a month. i promise you guys wont be disappointed.
the way they model the cars/tracks is totally new. they just added PIR (my home track) and i figured id give it a shot. its fantastic. they got almost every little detail right.

Star Mazda seems to be the only interesting car to race from my perspective....if they introduce a full field of ALMS cars, GP2, or F1 it would be worth the $20/month.
I'm a member of iRacing.
Its a very nice simulation and there are alot of professional drivers that have joined and are online regularly. I see Dale Jr. around about once a week.
They are constantly adding new cars and tracks. Just recently they added the Nascar Chevy truck. They have modelled the Riley/Porsche DP car in the past, and they are also in works with Corvette Racing to see if they can bring the C6R for a GT class. The amount of detail that has gone into designing the cars and tracks is just unreal. Every car and track is laser scanned and modelled, and the specs are basically dead on perfect.
The cost is $20/month if you are on a month-to-month basis. If you subscribe for a whole year it's $156 total and only $13/month when broken down.
It doesn't take much to run this game, however having some recent CPU and GPU hardware wouldn't hurt. Also, the Logitech Momo is still one of the best wheels around, and for only ~$100 bucks or less it's a very nice buy.
I've been a member since August 08 and have had alot of fun so far, and probably will continue to be a member for a long time.

Tell your GF to come over and she can read a book or something while you race. That should give you some more time

I think I'll stick to designing and building a real car. At least I'll end up with something tangible at the end of it and can at least point to where all the money went. Besides, you can give girls rides in a real car... I've gone down the endless hours of video games road before and found a dead end.

you think most of us dont drive real cars?
the reason i made this thread in the RR/AX forum is because people in here are drivers. not posers (like GDD).
this is a cheap timekiller and awesome substitute for actual driving.
