hpde question
ok, i ran into a small problem. i have an hpde coming up this weekend at cmp. My problem is my seatbelts. I still have the stock belts in the car and can get stock seats to put in it. The problem is that i have 2 comp seats i want to use but my cage got delayed 2 weeks so i don't have the cage to mount my shoulder belts too. I had belts mounted in my previous car using the rear mounts but i was reading around somewhere and i think i read that that's not a good idea. should i just grab the stock seats and reinstall them or is there a way to work around this?
Sorry, I don't remember what the official NASA stance is on this, but if it were me, I would put the stock seats back in.
Even if you made it past the tech inspection, you're running the risk of your instructor refusing to ride with you. Now, maybe they would find you another instructor, but maybe you miss half a session waiting for that to happen.
Hopefully someone can give you a definite answer.
