Default Help with SCCA Classing?

A little confused as to what class my car would be put in H Stock or STS2? I have a 93 Del Sol Si, with the following mods Poly Urethane Motor Mounts, Front Upper Strut Tower Bar, Rear Upper Strut Tower Bar, Front Lower Tie Bar, and Rear Lower Tie Bar. Does having those put me out of the regular stock classes?

I am 99% sure that will put you out of stock class. I think the motor mounts would do it "the most" and would also be the biggest PITA to change. The other things you could just unbolt.

The other thing I meant to ask was, I switched from a blown out D16z6(USDM) to a D15B(JDM) will that motor swap also put me out of a stock class?

Yep. That will probably put you in SM or a Prepared class in fact, so the other things don't matter. That's a WAY bigger deal than the motor mounts and stuff, even if the power difference is negligible.

If you are new to auto-x, just enter as a G stock car, where B-series powered Del Sol would be classed. Unbolt the stuff that can be unbolted. Be up front with anyone that asks what is in your car.

If you really get into the auto-x stuff, you will be better off selling the car and getting something that will be completely legal. Engine swaps will put you into the Modified classes where newcomers do not belong.

-Scott, I've Autocross'd before just not with the SCCA. My local club (NYBMWCCA) doesn't use SCCA classing they only go by # of Cylinders (4, 6, 8) with FI bumping you up a class and separate classes for non-DOT Tires.

-mustclime, I read the rules and was more confused as to where my car stood between Stock and STS2.

-Everyone, Thanks.

This is the single most important thing for deciphering SCCA nonsense: "if it doesn't say you can, then you can't."
