Default HELP HELP HELP

And im not kidding when I say HELP. ok here is the situation, (no funny comments either about how long ago this happend) Last Hizzyfest 3 laps or so till the end of sundays race, the car started acting weird as hell. Just before turn 10 @SP the wheel almost got jerked from my hand. I thought flat tire, and was about to pull off, but it was going both ways. Very violently, almost like someone was trying to jerk the wheel from my hand. It was much worse under power, but even straight coasting it does it. THE FRONT END IS TIGHT, ive checked it. It feels like tie rod ends, but there is no play, nor in the ball joints. Possibilities on the Quaife? any one seen or experianced this???? Im puling my hair out, and maybe tempeted to put the car around a pole or somthing

Mine suddenly went into hard wheel jerks left to right like really warped brakes, but I was accelerating. It turned out the axle nut on one side had backed off about 1/3 turn which toasted the bearing and the inner half of the inside race spun on the hub, so I got to replace that too. It was really violent when it happened, like a broken wheel or serious parts falling off. Maybe also try pulling the axles off and checking them for free movement, could be bound up or an outer joint damaged with chunks floating around in there.

When you're shifting? When you're braking? What are you doing to the car when it does this?

Depending on the answers, could be...

- bad wheel bearing
- bad differential
- locked up brake caliper
- alignment seriously screwed up (you did go off...hmm...)

Sounds like an axle to me, but that would have ended your race. Maybe the splines are all stripped out?

it does it all the time, worse when im on the gas. Yeah, so far Ive pulled one axle, the other off tomorrow morn. I think it may be the diff as well. as I spun 1 wheel the other didint move. Maybe ill just throw in a new tranny, or put a stock diff. thanks guys
