Helmets
There are tons
Any Helmet that is Snell approved (M or SA) and no more than 10 years old will work for both. I have an open face SA2000 helmet, but I use my M2000 motorcycle full face to autocross because it fits me better. M rated helmets tend to be cheaper too because most of the time they are not designed to be fireproof like most of the SA ones are.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should use an M rated helmet for an auto application that is. M rated helmets tend to be heavier which on a motorcycle you want to help protect the dome piece from an impact with the asphalt. In a car you want something lighter which is what the SA rated helmets lean towards to help ward off the effects of whiplash in an impact.
If all you are going to be doing is autocross maybe a few light track days or something, with the majority of the helmet usage being done on the bike by all means save the cash and just get one helmet.Just look at all sides before purchasing a helmet, and go to a dealer and try some on as well. Don't trust sizing charts, every head is different.
