After 4 months of not being able to drive, I got cleared to drive on Monday! Yay! You forget how much we take driving for granted, until you can't drive. It's very nice to be able to drive myself around on my own terms, and not have to have my mom drive me everywhere lol middle school.

Plus, went to the Ford Stealership today and walked out the proud owner of a 2005 Focus ZX3 SE. Between Ford's rebates and Z-plan pricing we paid next to nothing. Let's just say it cost less than any of the used cars we were looking at.

I pick it up on Friday 'cause the salesman has tomorrow off.

I'd be even more excited if I was cleared to autocross, but the doc said I probably won't be racing this season. Oh well, gives me time to get the car all ready for HS domination in 2006

 

why not a hatch back isn't there an RS or something that is pretty decent or there best car. the ZX3 is a 4 door right?

No, it was either the Dell or extra cash, so we picked the cash since I already have a spiffy dell

bah... my doctor said i would be out of work for 1~2 years. 5 months i was bugging him to clear me for work, although light duty. so, keep your chin up, you can do it glad to see you are doing better.

I have a stock 2000 as my daily driver since I do a lot of driving for my work. 63K miles so far. Took me a while to get used to the sitting position. Unlike Integras, you sit way up high. Friends tell me it fells like a small SUV.

They're pretty fun to drive out of the box, but the ride on mine is pretty soft. It improved somewhat with lower profile tires. I bought a complete SVT suspension but haven't installed yet. I think Ford improved the shocks and springs for the 04 and up models.

Too bad that the ZX3 only came with the 2.3 liter engine for one year (I think it was '4, and I think it was ~145 HP), but these days if you want that engine you have to buy the 4 door. Good luck with your new wheels.

 

well, I'm not giving too much up to the 2.3 Foci. What they have in power, I make up for in light weight.

I suspect some Koni's and a bigger front sway bar will make a world of difference on this car. Not to mention running something other than the OEM 195/60/15 tire
