FSP?
What are the disctinctions of FSP? i know it's a street prepared class but i can't seem to find what cars are in it anywhere. I am currently running in DSP against a very fast 318ti, Scirocco, and Neon. I am wondering if there is a way my G3 Integra can get into FSP. Thanks for any help.
No, you go to DSP. If you want to beat them, drive faster
Its not the car thats beating you.... unless the have big fat hoosiers on big wide wheels and you dont... Maybe your local region will let you fill out special petition AS303 and allow you to run FSP, but that would have to go up in front of the solo committee at the next board meeting
Edit: why would your (faster) integra be in a 'lesser' class than the (slower) neon or 318?

In FSP, there's Leeds Gulick's monstrous 914-6 that Greg Fordahl developed, and I think smoked everyone at Nats with the last two years. I don't think you want to go there.

That would be "FP" (which used to be part of AP). FSP is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It's where they throw all the cars that really can't be made to go very fast no matter how you exploit the SP rule set.
Take for example my '98 Civic DX hatch (no longer a "dx"). This car was classed in FSP due to the fact that the gear ratios are *obscene*, and the car is fairly heavy (worse than a 5G, which is also in FSP. That's why I went to SM).
A 3G Integra makes good power, has decent gearing, and can be fairly light weight if the rules are exploited properly. With much development at all, that car would be stomping on a lot of FSP cars because it has so many advantages.

So?
Basically you're complaining because the cars were well prepared under the street prepared ruleset, and you're slower, and the car isnt as well prepared. The biggest gains to be had in SP are:
Big *** wide hoosiers
coil overs+shocks
LSD
Oh, and nitto's suck for autocrossing... period... you can adjust the pressure in the tires though (not that it will help much).
Rules is rules. You cant jump into another sandbox because you dont like the people you're playing with.

This was a Dinan Modded 318Ti. I'm sure that car could smack my LS around like a $2 ***** The Neon came in on a trailer. Also i was running 30psi on my ****-to i mean Nitto tires. The car pushes like anything. Good thing there's a set of Azenis for my 14s on their way.

Ive been giving fsp a thought for my accord, which is competitive in sts. What is the pax for fsp?
So?

What are your mods? Why can't you run in STS or STX?
Your car determines your class. Classes and PAX values are determined by national level event results (pro, tour, and nationals). There are always a bunch of guys in cars that are street driven and not prepared to the limit of the rules, and there's often one or two guys that show up in their trailered built to the limit CSP/DSP car and kick everyone's ***...
There is no "street tire class" of DSP. Some regions will run a street tire group where they will group all the guys that are on street tires and PAX them together.
The closest thing to a street tire class of DSP (or FSP) is STS. Falken Azenis, Bridgestone S-03's, Kuhmo 712's, Yok AVSi's are the hot tires in the class (and fairly cheap, except the S-03's).
Also, there is no such thing as a less competitive class. The competition in any class is as tough as any other. And you cant just move to a 'slower' class because your car is supposedly 'handicapped' due to lack of modification. Hence, the sandbox comment.
If you were gung-ho serious into autoX you'd buy the hoosiers and coil overs and custom shocks and all that jazz... most people arent (you dont need to be). So, just go ahead and run DSP (or STS) and go out there and have some fun and work on your driving skill and car control skill. Going out and having fun is the whole point of it all, is it not? Hell, i had a blast last weekend autocrossing my RX7 on my no-tread kuhmo's that offered less grip than a decent set of street tires, and i didnt give a damn, i was having fun getting wallop'ed by a bunch of miatae..

Alright i didn't need an answer like that. I was just asking if I would be able to move to a less competitive class since I'm a novice w/ a fairly stock car. Also I will not run hoosiers since i wish to be in the Street Tire class of DSP. And i already stated the fact that Nittos suck

Also, getting your *** kicked in a class is very beneficial and helps you learn to drive better, faster. I took first place in my Novice class last year, and you know what I learned? not much at all. Then I stepped into DSP with my under preped STS car and got my *** kicked. I talked with the other DSP drivers, learned what mods I should do next, how to control my car better, where I can push more, where I should let off more, etc... Always being behind the class leaders motovates me to push my car farther then I ever thought I could.
As mentioned before, if you're so insistant on street tires, why are you in DSP and not STS? Our region has a Street Tire class but its mainly people in the stock class who don't want to have to buy R tires.
Oh, BTW DSP is really D$P.
How about a gander? a herd? oh hell.. there was like 8 of them (or 8 entrants in them) and they were all white. My blazing 100HP, stock shocks (didnt have time to put in my tokico blues yet) and bald *** kuhmo's were not the hot ticket on a lot with alot of sand, dust, dirt and gravel on it...
But i had fun, and i drove the hell out of the car

, i was having fun getting wallop'ed by a bunch of miatae..
Is it referred to as a "bunch of Miatae", or a pack or school of Miatae?
Oh...nevermind.
