Foo qualifies in 2nd
I was dying to see how he does with the new car. He was telling me that this new one is much better sorted than the one he had last year. Auberlen looks to be dominating though - his pole time was about .8 faster than Roger in 2nd (who has another .5 over the third place car). Either way, it's great to see Roger up top where he belongs.
Anybody else notice that Klienubing got 6th in the RSX, but PD was way down in 20th in the ITR? I also noticed that the other Realtime car running is actually another ITR, not another RSX. Should make for a good race, but I won't know for sure until it airs on speed channel!
PLEASE REMEMBER NOT TO SPOIL THE RESULTS OF THE RACE IN A SUBJECT LINE!!!!
Thanks
Matt

for Foo and his new team. Way to go! Lets hope he keeps this up.Still my money has always been on Auberlen from the moment I saw his name on the entry list. That guy is just good...
And great result for Bob Stretch, too. After a miserable year last year, he's finally up front.

His car was all sorts of fugged up at the DC race.... He looked like a very aggressive driver.
Perhaps Taz crashed it while unloading it off the trailer?

So, what team is Foo with this year? Who is sponsoring him? Etc.
As far as Taz, here is his response to the "where are you question" from the SCCA Pro Racing BB:
"I will drive a limited schedule this year, as I am building a new Mazda dealership and need to be around work alot more than last year."
The link to the press release above explains the new Foo team. The new Protege ES Foo is driving is gorgeous and well built. Robert Baxter's dad restores old Mopar muscle cars and one of his employees did a great job with painting the car. Robinson Racing did their usual fantastic cage work. Looks like it paid off quite well. When I spoke to Baxter this afternoon he was very happy for the team even though he was unable to qualify due to a broken throttle body or something like that.
Vantage, you would be hard pressed to use one of the SWC Protege intake manifolds on your street car as I'm not sure Mazda has them fabricated for their street cars. I suppose if you stroke a check for around $15,000, Sunbelt could take care of you.
If anyone wants to race a little yellow Civic I recall seeing one in Sugar Hill, GA.

Fi Fy Fo Foo... I smell someone's gonna kick a$$ this year! Got to love it when an underdog finally comes out on top!
Got a chance to talk with one of his crew members last year at Lime Rock... and take a few photos. http://www.pbase.com/emwavey/limerock_02
Anyone planning on going to Lime Rock this year?... maybe that should be a new string...

ugh....Impreza qualifies last. 13 seconds off pole.
Oh well, brand new car, and I dont think its even finished yet.
I still think they should have built up the 250lb lighter previous body style.
