I saw on the registration forms for the CMP race that there is a testing day on the Friday before the NASA/ECHC race weekend. I did some checking, and the cost is $190 for Driver's Ed with instruction, $150 for Driver's Ed advanced groups, $150 for the test and tune (race cars with liscensed drivers only). The way I see it, if I'm driving 11 1/2 hours to get down there, I might as well get 3 track days out of it. Is anybody else planning on doing the Friday event?

There is an extra day available on Friday. This would be in addition to Sat and Sun.

 

This driver's ed event on Friday that I'm talking about has nothing to do with NASA. It is another group who has the track for the day, that has open spots in their run groups. This will make it a 3 day weekend, instead of just the two days that NASA is doing.

P.S. The dates are 4/19 for the other group, and the NASA event is the 20th and 21st.

 

Friday a "FATT" type event put on by Turn One Motorsports, http://www.turn1motorsports.com/. They are the guys with the stock cars and the building out by the gate.

Sounds like they have 3 run groups. DE w/ instructors and HPDE rules, solo with HPDE rules, and test and tune for racers.

I am going to try hard to come out for Friday, but I don't know for sure yet.

Shultz and I will both be there on Friday doing test and toon. Adam may be there as well.

It'll be funny watching Shultz and I sandbagging each other. WOOHOO... 70mph through the kink!!!

 

You're talking about Friday April 19th, right? NASA is apparently doing an instructor clinic that day as well, presumably in conjunction with the Turn One T&T.
