Default Exhaust Question?

Looking for some information on what can be done to the exhaust system in SM or SM2. I would like to trim some weight and was woindering if it was ok to use a thinner guage pipe and or to remove the muffler all together? This weekend I saw a car in sts remove the muffler and was not sure if that was an option? This is not a daily driver so having a removable muffler/back section would be an option.

I dont think you even technically need an exhuast in SM lol. You can do whatever you want to the exhuast system.

In STS, all cat-backs are allowed, and "emissions legal" headers.

I am thinking the same thing, I would like to use a smaller guage pipe and have a removable back section, that should shave at least 20-30lbs.

Remember that many lots have noise restrictions, you don't want to be responsible for getting your club kicked out of their lot!

The thinner you go the more expensive it gets especially with bends and repair work. If you must go thin and for a decent cost `18g or .049 is they way to go we do have some 20g .035 in stock gotta look tomorrow if you have any questions or just need some direction gimme a call at the office i can give you all the weights per foot of the material
