Default Driving School Help!

Hi...
I need to know of a nice cheap way of getting track time with an instructor around PA.
I have been asked by my family to look in to a driving school for a gift. I though that maybe the ITR expo (if it is still open) or a HPDE with the NASA Virginia club.
I really could use some help because they are going to give the gift this weekend.

Thanks again

Is that a two-day event even for beginners? Or are beginners on one day and experience driver the next day?

I was at VIR for speedtrial USA, is it the same format?

If you were interested in the ITR Expo at Gingerman, why not check out the Speed Trials that is going on in June:

I'd like to attend, but that'd mean I've have a lot of prep work ahead of me.

NASA HPDE weekend June 22 -23 at Summit Point. 2 day entry $289.00, loner helmets available. All levels offered. One day entry $179, but I am almost sure that there will be no one day slots open. I already have 25 people signed up. Late fees of $50 will be added on/after April 12.

That weekend we will have big racing. We are expecting up to 30 American Iron entries, 30 or more Stock Car Championship Series Cars (SCCS), 30-40 944Cup Championship cars making their race debut, our best buddies the Legends guys, our NASA regular racers and the UTTCS (sp?) cars will be making a show.

Based on our attendence at VIR and CMP, I am expecting that each group in the HPDE will be filled.

Although the entry forms are not on the web yet (they should be by this weekend) you can email me and let me know your intentions. I will hold that until the forms are up, then I would expect to see your entry ASAP.

I am hopefull that registration will be online- credit cards and paypal will be accepted. Checks will get the snail-mail treatment. Paypal is the preferred method.

Format-
Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Super Advanced.

Novice and Intermediate have instructors and classroom time. Advanced allows passing with a point by. Super Advanced are for instructors, those drivers who are on the way to becoming wheel to wheel racers. Anyone in the higher levels may request an instructor also.

More formal than Speedtrials. Emphasis on driver learning about him/herself and own car and driver education. Goals set by student and instructor.

This is going to be an awesome weekend. It is also considered a specatator event and there will be an entry charge by the race track for those who are not drivers or crew members.

HYPER-FEST will be awesome in its own right!

Group Discounts - 11-20+ entries from a group earn a 10% CASH discount to be handed out at track. 21+ gets a 15% discount. No need to gather the group before hand if you don't want to. Group tallies will be made on Saturday after registration closes and discounts handed out at the party.

Any other questions, please email me at nasava@poracing.com

Elyse, will you be needing instructors for that weekend? I won't be racing, so I'm free to instruct if needed.

Instructors need to check in with Brian Shugg, our instructor liaison. svt_coupe@yahoo.com.

So if I would sign up someone for the summit point NASA HPDE (June 22-23) it would cost me a total of 289 + 50 late fee correct? Would you consider this a good event for a beginner driving an old civic si?

June 12, I hope. Is anyone (George?) setting up a H-T group for this event, or should we just get our HPDE registrations in now?

Thnaks guys - June 12. I'm still back in January I think. All that super cold wind at Carliles froze what's left of my brain.
