Default Does the Diffuser work

i was wandering if the diffuser by STR (holes in rear bumper) helped out for drag racing. I heard it was for aerodynamic purposes, but someone told me that they were just for show.

it does work, but instead of buying that junk why not just punch some circles into your bumper. i know that sounds "ghetto" but i've seen it where it actually doesn't look bad. its proven to pick up some mph in the quarter.
