Ditch the torque mounts?
I just installed a set of Innovative 95A mounts and would like your thoughts on whether it is safe to get rid of the torque mounts. I did a search and came up short in the RR/AX forum.
I tried searching the rest of the forum and all I could find was the typical cross-talking jibberish.
I dropped in my new ITR swap today but it is missing the rods that connect the torque mounts to the frame rails. Id rather not hunt for some if I really dont need them.

are you talking about the front mount? or both front and rear?
you should be fine with out the front a lot of people dont run them when they do a b series swap. try posting the question in the tech area where you think best.

What year car is this, I'd say use it. I'm using it in my DA with Innovative solid mounts and it def makes a difference on a high tq car........
I actually just bought a new one and filled it in to make it solid.

i had a built gsr turbo motor in my 4dr eg. with cheapy aftermarket 95a motor mounts without torque mounts and it was fine, nice and stiff...
i think they are more for security of your motor mount brakes. (not the original purpose though)

The front lower mounts are actually mostly for NVH control. With all stock mounts, they are designed to work as a system. With stiffer aftermarket mounts, things change. There's a reason HASport doesn't make those
Awhile back Brian G from hasport chimed in on this question, he said to keep them just in case you ever get into an accident, safety reasons I guess. Take it for what its worth.
