I have ran many many HPDE events at RRR with both FL Citrus and FL Crown PCA. Both are great clubs with great people and plenty of track time.

When I ran there were 4 25min session per day and a couple of classroom sessions for the n00bs.

Well worth the $210 .. though I just a few years ago, it was $175.

Most, if not all, PCA regions require PCA membership....which in turn requires one to own a Porsche (or at least supply them with a VIN number of one)

FYI

Not in my experience. I have attended HPDEs with FL Crown, FL Citrus, Carolinas, Peachstate, and Alabama PCA in the past 4 years. None have required PCA membership or a Porsche for HPDEs.

First Settlers was *really* bitchy about it when I wanted to run my integra on a joint BMWCCA/PCA track weekend at VIR (I'm a BMWCCA member) a few years back. So you may run into problems with your region, you may not. I've heard other regions are more lax (and kind).

But as for me, I have a poor opinion of PCA as a result and won't run with them even if I eventually own a P-car.

Welp .. every club has the right to give preference to it's members esp at popular tracks like VIR and Road Atlanta. Both BMWCCA and PCA will fill slots with members first for their RA dates.

IMHO PCA (and BMWCCA) have the best HPDE program of any clubs I have ran with in terms of track time per dollar, safety, and instructor quality.

The weekend wasn't full. They stated, in no uncertain terms, that they didn't want a Honda driving with the "marque" cars.

Two friends of mine have never had problems with PCA. One has a Z06 (Mustang before that) and the other a Mustang GT. They usually run the Roebling event every year - I know the Vette will be there at least.

My experience w/ Fl. Crown PCA is that they have no problem with non-Porcheys but they will give precedence to members. I'd suggest you sign up immediately if interested as the later the entry, the higher the liklihood you will be giving up spots to PCA members/Porsche owners. I do not believe you can become a PCA member w/out a VIN - some have said here in the past they were given membership w/out but that is probably on a limited basis. As for this school in particular, I had a good time there (this was in 2000). They are more strick that most clubs I have run with at this school but there was plenty of seat time. IIRC, pretty much noone took their last session. YMMV

no probs with PCA 'round these parts. The northeast chapters events are actually on the BMWCCA calendar and CCA members are treated as PCA members when it comes to registration. Here, at least, all the clubs have a later date to apply for non-members. Usually if members registration opens on the 1st then non-member reg will open on the 5th. Here, if you aren't a member, you have no prayer to get in. Thanks to on-line registration, the events are usually full within 18 hrs.

The only region I have heard of that doesn't allow non-Porsche is the Potomac Region. That's mostly because there is a waiting list of Porsches the first day registration is open. I'm guessing others are the same way but I've seen other makes run with 3 different regions in the area.

I've had mostly good experiences with the local Cimarron PCA club. Been through two DE events and they were the best by far. It helped that my instructor was a pro but still...was treated very well despite having the only Japanese car there - two years in a row. That said, the local club does *look down* on other foreign cars.

Translation: they didn't want a Honda passing (then lapping) the "marque" cars

Maybe they're a little sore from getting beat down by a f0rd lightning at an autocross.

Just remember that you can find out who are the Porsche snobs and who is OK by saying something about front porches and back porches and see who gets it.
