custom steering column mount
What have you guys done with your steering columns after you get the cage installed? Have you just used the factory mounts, even if they were mounted to the dash frame?
My dash frame was considerably weakened when we cut it to fit around the cage, and now I am not happy with how the steering column is mounted. It mounts to the dash frame and now has some play in it. I can live with it for a little bit, but am hesitant to put alot of track miles on it until I can get it solidly mounted.
I was wondering if many of you guys had to have custom mounts built, and where you went to get them? the shop that did the cage?
Thanks for any help/ideas/insights.

We fabbed a little mount to hold the steering column--isn't adjustable or anything, but gets the job done.

I'll try to take some shots of mine. It is one of the things I love the most about my cage... The cage's cross bar goes right over the steering column and under the dash. There's a piece of angle iron welded to the cross bar that the column bolts up to. It's very stout and the dash goes right over the whole deal. I still don't know how Lawrence trimmed the dash so well...
