it sounds like most of you guys only sport their sway bars... it's sad but i dont think they could sell enough sway bars to keep them in business. maybe 2-3 guys in here have their header.

Just not enough demand for their ENTIRE product line. not to mention, they use dynomax ultra flow mufflers on their $400 exhaust system

Honestly, how accurate is it to judge a companies success based on one thread in one forum? Comptech made great parts, this can pretty much be accepeted as a fact. Its sad to see them go, but its noones place to say, "They went out of business because of_______." Its even worse placing "blame" on companies. Its no companies fault, this is a free market, whoever makes the cheaper product with comparable quality will normally make more money...

Sad to see.
To what people were saying about JDM parts...in japan, you gotta give your left nut to get a comptech part. Comptech icebox went on yahoo auction japan for 40,000y a few weeks ago...

Well you should get on the phone as quickly as you can and order before they are sold out!

nopt to mention comptech's marketing really only aimed towards the real enthusiast. lacking the apeal that other companies had towards the younger tuner crowd who are brand ******.

I'm not going to miss them. Many of their products were overpriced.

I always felt that way too. If you are at the Acura dealership you may not know the difference because you are getting heaers and exhaust for your brand new TL, but for anyone at all familiar with the aftermarket, we should know enough to shop around some. I always felt like they were very proud of their parts and charged a real premium.

Many of there products are dyno proven to add horsepower, like there header for example...Can't say the same for Dc-Sports.......A prime example of why they are out of business.

Something good will come out of Comptech closing. This is an end of an era of high quality products like Comptech made, however I can see it leading to something better

for you guys. Thanks for making the Honda scene what it is today!

As someone who has tested many headers from different manufacturers, I do know that the DC header works very well and it's hard to beat the price. To get better performance, you would really have to custom design a header for a particular application, but that is beyond what most enthusiasts (and racers) are willing to do.

Yeah because obviously that's the ONLY other option.

Comptech made good products but if you can find as good of producrts or close for a much better price, why would you buy Comptech? They priced themselves out iof the market and it finally caught up with them.

supply and demand. Comptech couldn't supply goods for a reasonable price, so customers will buy from substitutes (aspec, omni).
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Your statement implies that Omnipower has products that directly compete with comptec or we had somthing to do with their closing. Thats simply not the case.

Doug Peterson has always held the highest level of respect by everyone at Omnipower. His mini's were some of the nicest race cars i have ever seen. I have a comptec ice box and rear sway bar/tie bar combo on our road race civic. Their Ice box is one of the best air filter systems by far that i have ever used.

For whatever reason they did decide to close their doors its really only their business.

Whatever they decide to do in the future Omnipower wishes them the best of luck and much success.

That's why my car is Comptech-free, they make nothing for my car!
