Camera mount position ...
where do you guys would better like to have camera mount positionned at in a prelude ?
i was thinking as far back as possible..and as high as possible
i removed the side rear belts cover on the rear pillars
to see if it would be easy to make mounts that would be hold by the belt holders in the rear..but it is almost impossible with the configuration of the car..without damaging the plastic of the car..
so i am thinking of making it go between both middle pillars attached to the front belt holder...replacing the large black washer that is there ...
and the bar would then bent backward and up and come straight at about 1.5foot behind the seat belt holder and almost to the top ..camera would have to be mount reverse though if the clip is on the bottom ..
what do you think ?
thanks.

This isn't a great place for this question.. Now the comp forum will probably give you a host of answers. Granted they may be sarcastic..............

Put the camera in the grill.. and put a piece of plexiglass / lexan in front of it.
otherwise in the back seat as far back.. make sure you get the mirror in the camera too...
if you are racing... point the camera backward ... watch the people behind you... It's amazing to see what goes on...

I used my roll cage for a mount and recommend you do the same.
Seriously, the camera needs to be mounted securely. I've seen some pretty creative mounts using the passenger seat head-rest holes. Don't mount it too far back otherwise all you'll see is the two front seats with little view out the front windshield. What ever you come up with, you better be sure it stays put and passes tech. You'd be better off getting at least a harness bar from Speedware Motorsports and using a camera mount from I/O Port Racing.

Just behind the plane of the front seats usually works well (mounted in the cross brace of a rollcage is an example). This usually gives a good view out the windshield and can be adjusted to see driver hands.
Like alread ymentioned, the mount must be secure. And the camera should be strapped in as well (in case the tripod mount hole strips/cracks). A strap through the camera's handle and then around rollbar or other metal should be ok).

ok cool thank you guys
yes that is what i thought of too ..making a little net of metal wires and use a racing pin to secure it into something.. so if the mount breaks or something u don't get a flying all around camera
ahha
thanks again

for autocross, I've got that headrest camera mount.. with a wide angle lense, it works well. with a safety strap, I don't worry too much about it becoming a projectile at autocross.. if you're at the track, I don't think I'd trust it, though.. and then I'd agree with the roll cage choice.
I just made a camera mount today that bolts to the headrest.
I will post pictures up shortly.
the camera angle is good. I would just like to buy a wider angle lens.

ajn: don't forget a safety strap of some sort for that camera.. it won't pass autocross tech without one if the tech people know what they're doing..

Here are some pics of the camera mount I made too.
