Default B&M Relocation fitting is crap!

I've tried sealing those damn fittings with thread sealant, teflon tape etc, but those things always leak. Any recommendations?

I'd like to get a top notch quality set of pieces for my oil filter relocation setup. I need the fitting that goes on the block and the fitting that actually holds the filter. I already have hose and AN-8 fittings along with a good oil cooler.

Anyone know where I could purchase these fittings without the entire kit?

Thanks

Those adapters look identical to the ones in the B&M kit!

You probably already know this, but be sure you wrap the teflon tape in the direction the fitting will thread. Otherwise it'll unravel as you thread on the female fitting and leak.

johng: Thanks but I already did that!
ruthless013: Thanks the only one that looks interesting is the moroso piece but I don't quite understand what the top fitting is for?

The Perma-Cool mount they have as well looks quite good but a little pricey.

But then again anything has got to be better quality metal than that of the B&M/PermaCool/TD/Summit kits...

I'm so damn scared to tighten that thing too much and watch the adapter crack.

Looks like it's just an extra hole. You could plug it, or put a gauge sensor in it. Nice easy place to put an oil temp or oil press gauge sender.

I was looking through the Pegasus catalog tonight, and it appears that the fittings that go into these adapters are usually 1/2" BSP (British Standard Pipe) male fittings. They do not seal on the thread or the flare at the end of the fitting, but on the shoulder at the upper end of the threads. This appears to be done by a 1/2" O-ring or an aluminum crush washer. Maybe you should try this before trashing the adapters.

UPDATE: I got around to redoing the same problematic fitting, and found that the thread sealant I applied last time never really cured. I redid the fitting with about 3 rounds of teflon tape and then sealed the last 2 threads with thread sealant. Tightened it like a bitch and no leaks.

I will probably be replacing the fitting when I switch over to stainless hose etc. But until then I've still got to fix the leak on the block adapter as well.

Thanks everyone for the help.
