ARRC talk
just starting a thread for a little ARRC chit chat.
id first like to point out that Bernardo Martinez is headed out from SoCal to show how the west coast setup is done. i checked the entry list, and i dont see anyone travelling as far as him for the race. B is CalClubs ITA season winner in a CRX, came up to SFR Sears Point and took track record - the first weekend ever being on the track! (but went thru two engines! i witnessed his overnight rebuild and swap using my spare engine) so dont anticipate having never driven Road Atlanta being a handicap for the man. best wishes to him.
bob stretch is back! lets see if there will be any worthy competition this year.
can anyone comment on why Fowler is competing in ITS? didnt want to go up against stretch?
good luck to HT's own Alex M as well in ITA.
oh and in case you non road racers dont know what ARRC is, American Road Race of Champions is basically the inter-regional invitational/championship held next weekend. west coast has their own PCRRC hosted by SF region.

Great to hear we’ll have a West coast (fast!) representative.
If Stretch doesn’t break, it will be a race for second most likely. But that’s not to mean people won’t be out driving 11/10ths all weekend (me included) chasing after him.
The car Fowler drove last year in A should still be running in A this year, however Tom will run against Stretch not in ITA this year, but in SM though against other names like Vansteenburg, Cottrell, Wilding, Chet Wittel, Todd Buras, Joe Evans, Jim Daniels, who are all great drivers. SM should be a great race with a big field. But ITA with already 26 entries (only 2 less than ITS), should also have a big field and a good race, too. Some h-t’ers I know also going are phat s (who I know will be quick!), metalworker (who is just slow
), Bowie (miata.. oh please....
), and LTB (with whom we will down right own the enduro on Sunday!
) Scott J, you still coming down for the enduro? Who else is coming? I’ll be there Thursday afternoon running some practice laps, on and off from work on Friday for qualifying, Saturday for the sprint and then running the 2 hour enduro Sunday with mr.LTB. Hope to see some people there. Can’t wait.
edit: first sentence of the third paragraph.

well, know anything about wc storms or ingersoll who are both entered in ITA with CRX?
Steve Ingersoll is Nick Thorough's (sp) buddy who's been racing the CRX for the last five years or so. He should be near the front of the pack. He's one of my drinking buddies/honda contacts and if you get the chance, say hi.. He knows just about everything you could know about the CRX and racing. He's running the 900r/600f setup.
Curt is the Crazy Canuck and should be right with/near/ahead of Steve. Very fast and not afraid of 2-wheels off. Should be scary watching him in T1 and T8.
Derek Hanna is in a boosted 240sx and is a rookie this year. He's real strong in the CP division and should do well. The car pulls the hill up to T9 real well...
Jeff Clark is in one of his rusty RX-7's. I'm not sure it's actually painted if it's the car I'm thinking of (He's got about a half dozen RX-7's) . I beat him in the last Conference race but he's a reall solid driver who know's how to race.
I would have made the trip if I had any more vacation time. Let us all know how it goes if you get out and watch.
oh, so steve's crx is the one nick mentioned he help build. i remember seeing him last year race with Ed Chang in nick's old crx, but he was blowing major smoke the whole race, and wasnt even in ITA for some reason. hope they can keep up with quintero... no one else can when he's on his A game, except nick when he punts him off the track...
what's phat-s's real name?? nevermind, but i dont see his name, adam richman, on the entry list either.
also, i thought louis was gonna sell his crx and go sm. i dont see him in ITA.

Ohh that rookie... full of good spirit isn't he? He does still have a lot to learn...
Tyson what entry list are you looking at? I do see Adam on the one I have. Not only did Louis sell his crx, but he got rid of the SM, too!
All I know is that his plans for this year's ARRC include driving the #2 A car on Sunday. Only the entrants' names are listed, so that's why you don't see Louis on there. But he will be there, lapping that rookie...

Come on guys, quit picking on me so early. I realize that I did just barely get signed off at my first DE event at CMP. I was severly questioned about my line thru 1, embarrassed because I was scared going into turn 8, and reminded that flat footing it in the kink was not a good idea. I have learned from my mistake and promise to do better next time.
As for Atlanta, I've been studing the course map,(don't want to get lost) and practicing the point bye as hracer showed me how to do so well, and consulting with phat , my instructor. He is really good, he won the the SE Div ECR Championship this year, so everybody better watch out when he gets into the car. We've also got a new weapon in the car now, if somebody hits us our car spits out all its water at them , so I would be careful.

Scott J, you still coming down for the enduro?
Tracy Nine will be there to do the sprint race though.Business is going nuts and my performance at the last Mid-Ohio race sucked. I felt like I was driving well but the lap times just weren't there. I couldn't come to grips with the cars handling either. I wrote it off to only doing 4 race weekends this year and decided I wasn't up to doing ARRC.
I found out TODAY that three of the shocks have NO damping at all, which explains Mid-Ohio. Tracy has them out of the car and Penske is rebuilding them in the morning so he can leave for Atlanta tomorrow evening.
I'm hoping that Stretch has his recent string of World Challenge luck packed away in the trailer!
I am just going to pray we don't end up using a smoke screen device (a la Spy Hunter) ;-)
Well Alex, if Mr. LTB will be lapping the rookie (heh!) it won't be in the phat-Si but the reman'd Civic - remember, I lost that golf game
our secret weapon - too friggin' funny
I'm really looking forward to this - watching the races, the ARRC feet wetting driving part and hanging out w/ this posse for a couple of days.
Actually Scott, driver changes go much smoother when I put the gas cap back on correctly (thank G-d I don't do my own taxes).

Well, my raggedy POS will be there....hopefully to give all you guys the smackdown those h-cars so richly deserve! (just kidding, it is not raggedy, somebody buy it please!)
We will be paddocked down in the lower 40 with tons o' beer.....I say we make the Sunday Enduro more of a challenge by all getting real drunk Sat night! (if stretch breaks sat, we may be getting drunk to celebrate one of our little group winning the ARRC!)
