Default Anyone in E Prepared?

I can't believe I haven't posted this before.
You GSR guys in DSP have all the fun.
How many of us are on this board?
Chime in please.

I drive a '94 hatchback. Not as ideal as an '86, I guess.
But the HART guys almost made it happen.
(All Hail the Undefeatable John Thomas!).

Come to think of it. I wonder what the percents are?
Two categories: Roadracer or Autocrosser and a Class

RJ, can we do a closed poll and find out? (ITA, ITC....and the few Honda Auto-x classes)

Edit: bad gramma

Too bad the 92-95 Dx is better in FSP than anywhere else

Anyone see at the last nat. tour that a 95 Dx won FSP over the 2002 champ 86 Corolla? By about half a second too.

So does that mean you may keep that car sitting in your driveway? You know you want to run some Hoosiers!!!

That was the Fontana Pro Solo, not a National Tour. That is Jim Harnish a past national champ that I said before that was going to be tough in FSP, especially in the Pro Solo's. He is not new to Honda's either. The CSP CRX Scott Hearne SP? owns that is from up by you Todd is Harnish's old car. That car was originally built by Ben Schaeffer and run by Neal Sapp of WC fame to the '96 National Championship in CSP. Jim bought the car in '98 and ran it for a couple seasons nearly rebulding the entire car in the process. He then sold the CRX and took abreak from racing for the last two seasons. Apparently he is back. He is always tough at the Pro Solo's. He is just a machine at the lights and is always consistent in his runs. He also is very good at car preparation. I look for him to be fighting for the top in FSP all this season.

BTW, sorry to have gone off topic...back to your regularly scheduled EP channel .

Todd and I both run with Hearne. And yes it's fast.
But FSP is not the topic.
If it were, I'd mention the FSP thread of not to long ago.

As for EP, at this moment it looks like Wenzel and Mannix rabbit have the best chance at knocking off the king JT. I actually want to see some people mix it up with JT and push him even more. I just do not have hte patience, money, time, energy, etc. it take to prepare a car for this class and be competitive. Although it looks like they are a blast to drive. Best of luck to you brave souls.

Yeah, that's tempting. I'm waiting for the ITR or 89-91 Si hatch to go to DSP though

The Cx in the driveway really wants to be an ITC car.

My fault about the tour/pro. I meant Pro, but I wrote tour. Still though, beating Taka (in a RWD car) at a pro is even more impressive in that little Civic.

As for EP, isn't that Rabbit running a double-wishbone front?

I am here. Only ran EP at the Seattle National Tour last year. Don't know how many events I will get down to the US this year, things are not looking very stable for much cross border travel. In Canada I ran D/SP all of last year. This year C/MOD we don't have a Prepared class in Canada.

I have run a couple events in EP in my accord. I do think it was a better FSP car, and almost wish I had left it alone. At least now I have to really push myself to drive faster, I get some good competition from a couple local honda drivers.

results form my last two events

I am thinking of making an occasional apperance in EP with my 92 Si. I scored some free road race slicks and a buddy of mine has a set of Revolution 13x6 wheels for cheap (to me) that he used on his CRX. My car is really an under-prepared STS car... but WTF... slicks could be fun!

Any problems getting your 13x6's to fit? My fronts will without modifications but the rears aren't. How much of a spacer are you guys running on the rear? Did you have to go with longer wheel studs?

I had stock 13x5 steelies with 20x8x13s.
5 inch backspace works up front,
rear needed 1/4 spacer, but it still rubbed a bit.
So a 4 1/2 inch backspace is required.

Edit: Rockin' the 20 x 9.5s up front since '02.

I ran EP with my 86 Si all over the place from 1995 through 1999. I take the car out once or twice a year for some exercise, like last weekend at the NNJR E-town test and tune. In it's present state of engine development, it is a mid pack car. Chassis is set up good though. That may change for next year, if I decide to go back to it and junk my bastardized fuel injection in favor of carbs. My head is still DP legal, so if the car comes back out, it will likely be there, because knocking off JT will be just about impossible with his skill and all the development the Lombardo car has had. I'd rather pick on LBC's.

The car is a hoot to drive, just a PITA to drag out of the garage and trailer around, besides beating me up. I got a nice purple bruise on the inside of my left forearm from contact with the harness buckle while steering. Nothing like fighting 9.5" wide slicks and a Mugen slip in an autocross with manual steering.

Not currently in EP...but heading that way slowly with the Integra. Oh what fun I will have when she's done....

General things about the design intent for my particular Integra:
-E prepared/HDPE, in other words more of a driver training tool for myself
-light weight (goal of under 2,000lbs with a custom designed and welded full rollcage, less driver weight)
- Has an aftermarket fully programmable engine management system, so I can basically use any fuel injected 4 cylinder engine I want if needed.
-B18A block with B18B "racebuilt" head (goal of 200+hp at the wheels)
-G3 integra GSR hydraulic transmission with Quaife LSD
-custom fuel system with fuel cell, custom intake system to throttle body, custom fit exhaust system, custom instrumentation layout, and custom designed brake system.
-upgraded suspension and drivetrain components

Vracer111, who knows that someday he'll have an EP Integra, someday...

In 2001, JT told me that he thought Ron Baker's car (a Datsun 510?) was probably the most developed of the bunch.

No, not with the steel stockers and a 1/4 inch spacer. But there aren't too many threads. If you have the patience, change 'em. And in a week I can tell you about the 20x8 on a 13x6 rr with a 4 1/2 backspace. Wohoo! And if a 20x9.5 on a 13x7 fr with a 5" backspace actually fits. Hoosier tires btw. Fingers are crossed for the fronts.
