Hey earl. are these a drop in replacement for a b16 head? or do i need to change guides? (heard that's a bitch and expensive) I've heard some valves need bigger keepers, do these?

{b16 head w/ ef1 springs, retainers, and stock keepers)
thanks for some more assistance earl!

Stock keepers and guides are used with these valves.

Well strength is a pretty good reason in itself
They also resist the higher temperatures generated by boosting and are lighter than stock for quicker and higher rpms.
They also come with a 30 degree back cut for better natural flow.

We use them in our race motors. The dished are lighter and the flat give you more compression ratio for all motor applications. I also use the Supertech valve springs and retainers and have decided to start selling them now, also.

They are stainless steel. Any valve can mushroom on you if your geometry is off on the cams or rockers.

I was thinking Supertech was offering some with hardened stems, or maybe that was someone else? Can you confirm that?

I believe all the tips of the stems are hardened at the factory but I know about no hardened stem options. Not sure how necessary that would be.

The only thing I know would work would be to nitride the valve, but that only helps the surface hardness, Also a cryogenic process, but that is over the top for most applications.

Correct, nitride smooths and makes the surface harder.
