I have done multiple overalls, but nothing of this extent before so im trying to calculate the amount of primers I will need. I have not sprayed PPG since college approx 3yrs ago, as im a body tech...not a painter and I used to spray Dupont on personal items.
The products in question are PPG DP90LF and K36.
I need to paint a ENTIRE dc2 integra. The firewall was replaced, every panel was replaced or has body work, the cage needs painted, entire bay, and entire interior from roof to floor etc etc etc.
The plan is to spray whatever panels with bare metal with the dp90, and whatever I plan to block (i.e quarters, hood and fenders) with k36, and then probably spray everything with the dp90 as a sealer. k36 can be mixed as a sealer according to the P sheets, but I might as well just spray the epoxy.
Seeing as how both primers are expensive at around $220ish a gallon with activator how much should I get?
If I spray the entire interior with dp90 as a sealer, spray the engine bay with dp90, the cage and jambs as well with it. Then the exterior panels with k36 to block, then after blocking shoot all exterior with dp90 would a gallon suffice? and approx how much k36...2 quarts? The doors got new skins so they are straight, I want to block the **** out of the hood, quarters and fenders since the car will be painted a dark color and Im very picky.

Do you NEED to go with that expensive of a primer?
Depending on how your primer is mixed, I used about a half gallon on my 98 Civic Sedan, but that turned out to be a full gallon sprayable. That was just for the outside of the car, including door jams.
