Hey guys,
Looking for advice on how to deal with the rust in my trunk area, POR 15 makes a great kit for floor and trunk pans which I am considering. I also have a friend who can weld so I could cut a plate to fit/weld and cut out the current pan. My only concern is the jackpoint in the rear which is a major structural component and is a part of the trunk.
Sand and inspect, I would use the wire wheel on it with a drill. Next step up there is a sander for metal and if you need to cut patches of metal then that would be your last step literally. Once metal is on sand down, seal with primer or some rust inhibitor paint (internet search) and then repaint. Looks very minor to me but then again I have a rust bucket I am dealing with currently. Best of luck!
