some questions on prep
yes, i've searched and i've read and learned a lot. There are still some things i'm not certain of. They say the 50 dollar paint job sucks when u try to paint over it. well, i rattle canned my front fenders. My car was stolen and completely stripped, and i built again pretty much from the ground up. i figured i just wanted my front end to match the rest of my car and well i sprayed the fenders. it looks pretty good as i paint a lot of stuff with rattle. From what i hear i have to sand it down to bare metal, well i don't mind that. but i want to prime it after wards. Is rattle can primer bad? i'd hate to buy new fenders since these are nice and aren't bent. Also, as far as prepping the car for paint, i'm going to maaco...what grit sand paper should i take to the car? i prefer to scuff it before they scuff it because who knows if they'll actually scuff it before they paint it. it's either going to be econopaint or maaco. thanks in advance! btw, if u can recommend a particular rattle can primer that will do the trick i'll pick it up. thanks again!
You should read my thread i pretty much asked the same questions.

hmm well, there's some good info on there. the fenders need to get sanded to metal and then primered which will be easy. i'll spray some air craft remover on it first, then finish it up with a da sander. did u wind up using the rattle can primer because that's what i wanna do.
I did end up using the rattle can primer on SOME spots.
If your just gonna primer the fenders it should be alright, but rattle can primer isnt the best recommendation.
