Default shaved molding removal

I want to put back the mouldings on my hatch, it was filled with fiberglass. I already got traded doors, so I only have to remove the rear quarter panel and the front fender. Could I do this without damaging the body.

only way to know is to try, if you still have the old doors practice on them if not then I would try the front fenders first, you can always pick up new ones pretty cheap.

get your self some wire wheels that go on the end of a drill. You may need a couple of them.

I'd try from the end with maybe a small chisel or pointy screwdriver. Bang it in just to start it off and then work your way down. Once you have most of the fibreglass/bondo out, go to town on it with a coarse wire wheel on a grinder (or a drill). You'll probably end up repairing a lot of the marks from your tools but at least you'll end up where you want.

Thats why you want to just use a wire wheel, it leaves a relatively undamaged surface, just bare metal.

its just fiberglass... hammer and chisel for roughing it out. sand/grind the rest

good thing yor car's moldings werent shaved professionally cuz then you would've had to replace everything

Thats about your best bet. Just sucks because you have those holes from the moulding clips and the bondo likes to go in there and act as a fastener.

Always try a torch and a pick, I would recommend it though.

I have "de-shaved" a integra and a civic before, I used the wire wheel method for both.
