Before I have my 94 Prelude painted I was wondering to myself if I should strip the undercoating that's on the car now and apply some sort of rustproofing(I'm assuming what's on the car now is what Honda applied to it when it was built). Por-15, Eastwood Rust Encapsulator, truck bed liner, etc...
I bought the car back in 05 from an older gentlemen in Massachusetts. The car had spent it's entire life in the north until then.
I have replaced about a 2-3" section in both my rear quarters due to rusting and it's got me worried if I should "re-undercoat" the car now. What would you paint and body guys do?
I searched but really didn't find an answer. Thanks for your help!

i would not strip the factory undercoat, what i would do is clean it off really good with some purple power or simple green degreaser, and scuff up the potential problem areas that look like they could be trouble down the road, then treat it with something like chassis saver, or even rubberized undercoat in a can. But whatever you do, dont remove the factory undercoat.
