i got an estimate today to get my front bumper cover painted, front lip painted and my sideskirts painted. the guy said it would be about 481 dollars without install, just for painting. is that a good price or should i get it estimated somewhere else?

Not a bad price for just paint. I just gave an estimate the other day to fix scratches on a bumper and fender that was maybe 4 hours totall of body work. Came out to 800 dollars. Usually you figure $300 a panel and that is around what you have. You could find cheaper places of course though. You know the story with cheaper though. You get what you pay for.

The correct way to do it if you paint a whole fender would be to blend the door and the bumper. Usually you don't blend the hood. If you are referring to the estimate I gave the lady, I am only painting the fender because we can blend within the panel.
Sometimes we don't blend the bumper because they usually are a different color to begin with and it is cheaper for the customer. You can go to any car lot and see this difference. Especially on Chrysler's.
