Do you have a picture of what's happening? If it's spotting up, it might be fish eyes, which is the presence of oil on the surface of the car. If you use an oil based soap to clean it, you also need to clean the car with a wax and grease remover solvent to get it ready to go.

This is just too ironic. $300? Really? If that's expensive, then you're doing something wrong...

Either way $300 is still cheap, never understood why some people can't take some time and save up enough money to get something done instead of half assing ****.

dont use acetone i dont deal much with spray paint other then trim black. i would think the acetone would make the spray primer soft an start braking the paint down. jsut go the auto parts store an get wax an grease remover. im lying i use high5 is a high build spray can primer maybe u should ook in to that but its not cheap its like 15 bucks a can

Why do you have to get a 3 stage, why not get a 2 stage paint, **** or even go cheaper and get a 1 stage paint. Why are you spending $200 for body work, if you're doing it yourself right now? You can even go to the $50 paint job thread and follow that

I agree, cause I can get all the paint supplies to paint a car for less than $300

Be careful with the acetone. Nasty stuff and it's highly flammable. Acetone is a commonly used basic ingredient in paint remover so wipe on and off quickly. Make sure the area you are working has plenty of ventilation.

After the wet sand, rinse and wipe with cotton rag. Let it dry real good. The issue is either oil in the paint, or as suggested it's breaking down from the acetone or just incompatibility of the paint and the car finish.

Let the primer dry and prep with scotch brite pad and wipe down. That's your best bet - the primer will act as a blocker.

Good luck with it!
