Not sure where else to post this. And I searched, but apparently not well enough.

I just got a little 3hp, 6 gallon pancake compressor today. I've been waiting on this thing. I was excited. I plug it in... and the motor just hums. It doesn't actually start. It's factory refurbished, and i have a warranty so i'm not opposed to just sending it back. I would just rather be able to use the damn thing now. I've seen this happen a couple of times before so i thought it might be kinda common. Anyone have any ideas? I'm new to actually owning an air compressor.

Edit: I put oil in it, I replaced a plug that was supposed to be replaced, and I put the air filter on.

I would send it to have warantee work done.

 

I would call it factory defect
