I painted the car this weekend and ran into trouble. This is the first time I painted.
I used acrylic enamel with the reducer and a wet look hardener. All was cut according to direction. I painted outside in the sun. I was about 60 with almost no humidity.
The paint ended up with very large droplets on the car. The droplets were shinny, nothing else was as shinny. It looks horrible. I sanded the car down again to try it next weekend.
What was wrong? How do I prevent the large droplets? It looks to me like the hardener caused the clumps.

yep anything silicone will f*** a paint job up you need to resand the car and clean it good with prep solvent, tack off the car and start spraying but make sure your using a purified air source or your gonna be in the same boat the second time, painting is all about being clean.
yup... you need to wipe the whole car down with 330 wax grease remover... thats stuff works great.. wipe it on and wipe it right off with a dry towel. Also what does the surface your painting on look like? Explain more of your prepping process and also what gun and type of compressor you are using. Your gun could just be shooting incorrectly... overspray could leave some spots wetter than others too.
good luck
