Default Paint matching

My car was hit on the rear bumper and yadda yadda yadda.I went in for repairs and a buff and i also decided to put on a 98 rear bumper to mix things up.Before giving my car to the shop he said he could paint match it and i told him that the car is not the original color.I got the car back and the rear bumper is a shade off and its bugging me.I dont kno anything about autobody so im here for your input on what i should do.If blending is the only way well ill go ahead and do it.For now the car looks amazing even though its a make job with a rear bumper done by a much better shop then macco(a place where you would have a car painted the right way)

I went back to the body shop about my rear bumper and the owner was away at lunch.I had someone from the shop look at it and he said he can see the difference in color.I left and came back and had the owner look at it and he said thats the best that he could do and the only way for him to get it perfect is to find the color code that macco used.Well i cant do that cuz i bought the car stock from a dealership.

He continued to say that the average person cannont see it and i shouldnt worry about it but if i wanted it perfect he will have to blend it in with other panels($$$).The whole time im thinking to myself why would you paint it the oem color if you kno because i told you that its not the oem color?.Its bugging the hell out of me thats for sure and i might just get it blended but i think he should pay for all of it.

I took pics of the bumper/car only to find out that my usb cable is missing. So for the people that i know and showed you the rear bumper.......is it that bad?.For the others that were at the meet heres the car.I kno im critical person when it comes to these things but i have love for my cars.Ill try and get a good pic of the rear so that you can see what im talking about

Wish it was a pic of the rear

Is this thread only so you can post a picture of your car?

If you don't like whatever they did to your rear bumper then continue to take it back until you get a satisfactory result.

Seems simple to me?

Tell them you communicated and was under the impression they understood it was not a OEM finish, and that they could still paint match with acceptable results. Just say its obviously not acceptable and they should have checked the color they chose prior to painting. A good shop can paint match solid red on bumpers with acceptable results. Keep in mind it may not be absolutely perfect but if its not it should be damn close and not noticeable.

they most likely don't want to waste time bench tinting this color (it can be a pain and very time consuming) that is why he told you he could blend the quaters. that seems like a nice way of telling you to get lost or pay them more money for unnecessary paint work. good luck getting everything worked out.

Its almost impossible to simply get a color code to match up with ur qp's. It wouldn't suprise me if the car still had its original paint.... like the guy above me said, its way toooo much work to sit there and tint it, they are better offer blending it into the qp's. You honestly cant get mad at the shop, the same thing would happen anywhere.

Judging from that one pic looks acceptable to me. How it looks in real life in the sun and shade maybe different, but that pic looks edited too. You should see my DD, both front and rear bumpers are way off compared to that. Keep in mind Honda's are hit and miss as far as bumper paint matching from the factory.

It really depends on the color and how a shop approaches the matching of bumpers. Some colors I could nail because I know the color or it's an easy color to match like black or a darker color.
