I need some help with paint and terminology. first, what is the difference between the different paint grades? Theres the really expensive stuff thats like 500 for a gallon and needs to be mixed with hardener and reducer. then theres the stuff at o'reillys thats like 50 a gallon and only needs reducer. Second, wheres a good place to buy medium to good quality paint and primer online, besides a local store(there are none around me)? Third, what are all the different kinds of primers out there and what are their uses, and do they also need hardener and reducer? any info would be great.

$500 per gallon sounds quite a bit expensive. i'd also recommend keeping everything in the same product line so no chemical reaction occurs.

 

well, i went and bought a book at barnes and noble and answered all my questions. i would recomend that rought for anyone trying to paint their car for the first time. just wondering, what does everyone use for paint brand? in the book they used ppg. but they also mention house of kolor and some others. what workes the best in different applications?
