Okay so i saw the other day in NY the same exact civic as mine ( 2002 em2) and he had his hood painted from the inside line to the other inside hood line, i want to paint that black .

should i do...

1. tape off the center off the hood where i wanna paint.

2. wet sand 1000 grit then 2000 grit

3. put newspaper over side hood, fenders, headlights, grille, and front window

4. Hit is with a coat or 2 of primer

5. Paint with black paint ( not sure what kind tho need help with that )

6. Let it dry and show it off

How does this sound? (sorry i cnt show u what i want to do, i dont kno how to post pictures)

you should do it to a carbon fiber hood instead..

messing up a stock oem hood by painting it black in the middle... especially if your not sure what kind of paint to use-

if you have a spray gun and get some nice paint... (no spray paint) maybe it would look ok-

but personally id just keep it as is unless you want to go with black in other areas of the car- because just having it on the hood isnt enough to pull off that look-

a carbon fiber hood with painted sides... maybe a black roof and a carbon fiber trunk would look good

 

I have my front grill painted black, also i did the DIY black housing headlights and also have black rims. But you think that it would look good with a black roof and carbon fiber trunk ?
