how much to remove glass
just trying to gauge the amount it should cost me to have my windshield and quarter panel windows removed, just so I don't feel like I am getting ripped off car is a 92 cx
the glass guy that comes to my shop charges around $80 give/take for windshields and $50 give/take for quarter glass but he does a lot of work through here so we get a deal. it might be more for general public.
glass companies also don't take responsibility for broken glass.

Post up the rates..I need mine out too
But I find 80 kinda high cause out in Cali you could get a replacement for 100$, i had to get one when my hood flew up on me.

prices very of course but some places wont r&i windshields because its laminated glass, not tempered.
Nope not yet, sema is kinda a let down. I just got a few pics I'll post them on my thread.
Good to hear your going to paint it!! I guess the only question left is what color??!
And what car are you working on again?

Not sure on the color as yet looking my buddy works as a place that mixes paint so looking at whetever "mistake" paint I can get for cheap. working on an EG. called safelite they quoted me 100 for the windshield-remove and replace later and 95 per quarter window. got a few more to call today.
looks like i will pull the quarters myself and pay safelite to pull my windshild for me just found the part numbers for the quarter molding so i will replace them at the same time but I am not messing around with the windshield I have a local guy that soposed to come by to give me a quote on the windshield.
Not exacally piano, just some thin wire a construction friend of mine had (kinda thick actually). I just got some wire threw the window, wraped the wire around the vicegrips on both sides, locked them, and went to town.
They also sell the window tool at harbor freight ha.

my honey to do list keeps getting longer
as soon as i cross something off more stuff gets added. hopefully by this weekend I will have everything on the house taken cared off (winter is comming) then i can start taking some pics and getting to work on the strip down.
think i might make a trip to Harbor freight and pick up a paint gun for the primer at least.

piano string or use a razor knife working around it.
dont pay safelite to take the windshield out. do it yourself. not that hard. just go slow and cut the glue and pry with a flat bar with some electrical tape covering it. I've never had a problem.
