how much primer?
last year i had a run in with a deer and a moose. oddly enough my car earned it's stars last year. still driveable to this day. had to replace my bumper, hood and passenger fender.
i am looking at spray can primer and am wondering how many cans i would need to cover those three parts. i have the base coat and clear, just looking for how much primer i am gonna need. can't wait to see her all shiny and one colour again.
'02 honda civic ex coupe (si in Canada) incase anyone wondered
thanks in advance.

do you really want to play the chance of lifting of your paint? You really want to seal, prime, sand , seal base and clear.
If you really want to do it, about 5 cans of primer should do it.

if you've done some body work on those parts, i'd get a maybe a 2-3 quarts of primer at most. a high quality primer not spray cans. With a 2-3quarts of primer surfacer that utilizes a hardner and reducer and i'd also get a sealer additive as well so you can use the same primer as a primer surfacer to build thickness that can be sanded smooth, then afterwards sealer - base- clear.
but if you replaced your bumper, hood, and fender, that has no dents and u just needa base and clear it, then maybe just 2 qts of primer sealer with the proper additives. (sealer activator and hardner)
