I've been debating on doing a two tone on my integra after I get it tuned, however; I ran accross this video while looking for some layout designs. I became very interested after I did some more research and found it to be very durable and the most relistic vinyl yet. The vinyl seems very thick very easy to apply and seems very real.
I know the idea of Carbon Fiber is for weight reductions but I'm looking to apply this to hood, roof, and deck. With some ICE wax it should bring it to a semi gloss just like Carbon Fiber.
Its just an idea so no flaming...

It looks like a cool product though I might wanna try this for the case on my computer.
well I'm interested in this because I'm not up for paying 450 for carbon fiber lips and breaking one every 3 months. With this product I could use it on UP or fiberglass, clear over it (possibly) for more authentic look and call it a day. No one buys carbond fiber lips for weight reduction anyway, or even roof skins which are mounted ontop of the roof itself...
Id like to know if u can clear over it without any adverse reaction as well. Ive used something similar but it was just like a CF look vinyl but it had texture. IF its similar but with an adhesive it def wont be clearable.
Just got the sample in today. I have to say I'm very surprised at how realistic this really is. Even without clear its very close to true carbon. I know there is adhesion promoter available but its usually used for base and clear. I'm wondering if adhesion promoter is translucent enough to allow clear coat to cure correctly.
i would use this on some of the fiberglass lips i been making for my nissan beater since it would look nice and i wouldnt have to paint it every time i broke another lip, i would like to know if you can clear over it through i can get anything i want for my civic in cf but the se-r they dont make much for it so that would be cool

I can see this being super popular soon. But personally I dont see why faking having CF is needed.
I have painted my CF hoods in the past to match the cars colour.
But then again , just a few hours ago a buddy was asking me if there was a way to vinyl a better looking CF look to his hood roo and trunk than the cheap look alike available at autozone.

Where did you get a sample of this?
I might want to redo my de la sol door panels with this.
I havent got a chance to measure but it seems about 3 mills... I'm positive that clear will go over this with not problem. From the looks of the vinyl theres no additive to give it a "pop" or glossy look and its a rather rough textured surface so three coats and a wet sand will be needed... I'm going to clean this little piece wet sand and buff it then snap a picture with it next to real carbon fiber...
