Default Help with Wetsanding! Quick Question!!

Hey,

I'm kind of a noob at this, but im deciding to wet sand a car starting with 1200 grit only. Afterwards I would then proceed in buffing it like normal. The clear coat only needs a bit taken off i guess, but my main question is if i accidentally take off too much clear and start sanding off paint would i have to reclear the car? Or would i have any other options?

If you take off the clear and get into the paint then yes you would need to repaint that panel. Start with 2000. 1200 is a bit much for what I am guessing is factory paint. 2000 is also a lot easier to buff out then 1200 scratches and won't sand away the clear as fast as 1200.
