Its called blending, Feather edge the damage, you going to need 18" from the center of what your painting on each side. You Paint it with a wisk of the wrist to get alittle overspray past the repair, then you need to do a fog coat, about 12" above the panal with a 90% overlap. Your going to need to re clear the whole panal, From here there isnt much more I can tell you.

Doesn't matter if it's one chip or a hundred. You still have to know how to blend the new paint into the old.
You're the one that's not getting it.

This Forum is awesome! wish i would have joined yrs ago!
Paint jobs are Expensive because it requires skills that can't be learned overnight. not to mention proper tools and equipment $$$. this also applies to "touch up" jobs where paint is expected to match. So, no your paint won't match if you do it your self. But I say do it anyway and let it be a learning experience! And post up some photos!

Horrible info, You should be using wax and grease remover not soap and water. Also you should use a tac rag and blow, tac, blow and they apply paint not use a "cotten rag"... That is someone who dosent know how to paint! Also you dont want to apply wax over fresh paint for 2-4 weeks.
