fixing crack in my bumper
To fix it the rite way so youll never have preblems with it again would be to plastic weld the crack. Use some 3M plastic filler to smooth everything out and then spray with a primer.
i think the plastic weld being referred to is a special epoxy you can get at wal-mart. should'n't be too much, remember to sand so the plastic weld has something to stick to.
here's a link to show you what it looks like:

This is what i've used to fix my crack in my bumper:
Pickup some duramix 4040. It can be bought online and it's the BEST plastic epoxy for the honda bumpers. I bought a box that came with the epoxy and hardener, a bunch of mixing cups, some mixing sticks, and some fiberglass mesh to keep ti in place (basically, it's just screen door lining in case u need more).
1) take some mesh, cut it so it's about 1" longer then the crack on both sides and above and below it.
2) Sand down the edges on the BACK of the bumper cover cuz it will get messy. Make a V shape betwen the two halves of the crack. Also sand down (with 80 grit) about 2 inches in every direction to get some nice adhesion.
3) Take some duct tape and place it on the outside of the bumper to keep the crack together while u work on the inside. I did mine off the car cuz it was much easier.
4) Wash with soap and water to remove any oil or deposits. Let it air dry or dry with air
5) Take some paint thinner and wipe down the surface that you just sanded (on the back of the bumper!) to remove any grease or oil.
6) Mix up the epoxy. It dries in like 3 minutes so use only what u can do in that time. I did only enough for me to lay a nice even layer on the crack and then take the fiberglass mesh to stick. Use enough to go about 1-2 inches beyond the crack in every direction. After that dried (about 15 min) i put another layer to cover up the mesh.
7) After about an hour, it should be HARD, but still very flexible (just like the oem bumper cover!)
8) take off the duct tape. You should now have the crack that is mended together. Now u need to do the same prodecure with the front of the cover, but u don't need to use the mesh because it's only for cosmetics.
9) Sand down about 1 inch in all directions of the crack on the outside of the bumper cover.
10) repeate the cleaning steps
11) lay down a nice thin layer of duramix. Let it dry then sand it down 2 get it smooth. It might take u 2-3 layers to get it smooth. Any low spots, u can just use some bondo glazing and spot putty.
12) Feather sand it til it's smooth with the oem paint.
13) Adhesion promotor, Primer, and paint!

I've done a ton of plastic welding. All I would do is, get a craftsman soldering iron. The one that comes with an assortment of replaceable tips. I paid $50. I use the flat attachment the most. Clean the area really well. Use tape to hold it together while you work. Work form the back, and make sure you are getting a good melt in the plastic; be sure not to go through, as that makes a real big problem. Once you have welded the joint, then you will use the epoxy on the front of the crack. You will know if you did a good enough job welding. Adhesive promoter next; allow promoter to dry really well, and prime it. I have successfully welded headlight mount-points back to the headlight. I have fixed a few bumpers, lips
(I've been in the cars since, and yes, there has been a few scrubs on the fixes. No breaking!) and even a coolant res. or two. I have had no problems with leaking or re-breaking. EVER. Good luck man!

Yeah my rear bumper is cracked on 99 Si and I went to the body shop and the dude how much would it cost to repair it and he said its impossible! The crack is really subtle and I knew he just wanted me to pay for a straight up respray man. I live in the united kingdom and the pound stinks right now and he's out of the question...haha I'm buying a 3m kit!!

What's Duramix? I heard putting bondo can crack on bumper. I'm not sure, I was told there was special bondo that they use for applying it on bumper. Is this true?
The most effective way to fix this IMO is melting wire mesh into the back of the bumper prior to filling/painting. I'm not going to go into detail, just read it here.

first of all how big is the crack? do you have pics? the best stuff that holds up better than anything the other guys have mentioned is called "panel bond" it takes a day to dry but remember the longer it takes to dry the better it holds. Its really used to to glue panels together like roofs and bedsides but i use it too to fix bumpers. it is spreadable and sandable.
really need a pic of the damage to explain further
